What is it?

What is Physio-Pilates?

Physio Pilates is a  Pilates-based physiotherapy session that integrates the principles of Pilates into a physiotherapy treatment plan, emphasizing core strength, flexibility, and overall body alignment. Here’s why clients might find it beneficial:

1. Myo-fascial Core Strength and Stability: Pilates focuses on the tensional balance of the myo-fascial core, providing support and overall stability to the body. This work improves posture and, consequently, helps to relieve back pain.

2. Flexibility and Range of Motion: Pilates exercises promote flexibility and increase joint mobility, which can be particularly beneficial for clients recovering from injuries or dealing with musculoskeletal issues.

3. Body Awareness and Alignment: Pilates emphasizes proper body alignment and awareness of movement patterns, helping clients develop better posture and movement habits. This can reduce the risk of injury and enhance performance in daily activities or sports.

4. Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention: Pilates exercises can be tailored to target specific areas of weakness or injury, aiding in rehabilitation and preventing future injuries by addressing underlying imbalances.

5. Holistic Approach to Health: By combining physiotherapy techniques with Pilates principles, sessions aim to improve not just physical strength but also mental focus, breathing techniques, and overall well-being.

6. Personalized Care: Each session is typically customized to the client’s needs and fitness level, ensuring a tailored approach to rehabilitation or fitness goals.

7. Insurance Coverage: These sessions can be claimed under physiotherapy for insurance purposes, making them a financially accessible option for many clients seeking therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation.

Overall, a Pilates-based physiotherapy session offers a holistic approach to improving physical health, enhancing movement efficiency, and promoting long-term well-being.
Clients seeking to recover from injury, improve their fitness, or maintain a healthy lifestyle can benefit greatly from these sessions.

What else do we do?

In addition to our Pilates-based physiotherapy sessions, we also offer a range of other specialized services:

Classical Pilates Training: These sessions adhere to the traditional principles and exercises of Pilates, providing a comprehensive workout aimed at improving strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. Please note that classical Pilates sessions are not covered under insurance.
